Serge Entertainment Wishes You A Happy Holiday Season!

It's December 1st and things are slowing down for us as usual during this month. I've always thought that now is a good time to get those CDs and presskits to media people so they are ready to jump on them in January. Alas, many musicians appear to have different ideas. I think they would rather spend the money they have on Christmas presents instead of continuing to invest in their careers. Also, I think many musicians are broke right now, thanks to the economic downturn. We are all feeling the pinch at a time when we all need money for the holidays. But we will survive and come back stronger than ever in January and hopefully, next year, more musicians will see the advantages of beginning and/or continuing their media campaigns in December. Afterall, it's the most wonderful time of the year :-)! Why not keep the momentum going?

One such client who has not lost momentum is Llexi Leon of the band Eternal Descent. He just signed a publishing deal with IDW for his comic book! The press release just went out yesterday. I have to include some of his comic book art for you to take a look at. you will see why Llexi is on the fast track to success. He is also working with producer Eddie Kramer on his next album.

Also, the momentum continues for the Paris Keeling CD release "End of Ride Revisited". Kelly Keeling is doing the Rock4xmas tour this year which begins December 3 in New England. Marty has been on a media whirlwind doing interviews with local, national and international press and radio. We now have Paris Keeling t-shirts for sale at http://www.kellykeeling.net/merchstore.htm and if you purchase the Paris Keeling "End of Ride Revisited" CD before December 15th at the web sites listed below, you will receive a free gift. Perfect for the gift giving season! http://www.pariskeeling.com, http://www.myspace.com/pariskeeling, and http://wwww.kellykeeling.net/buy.htm
This album should be in every record collection. It features Don Dokken, George Lynch, Carmine Appice, Erik Norlander, Al Pitrelli, Shane Gaalaas with Kelly Keeling and Marty Paris as the core band.

Also, we have a phenomenal singer/songwriter you have to check out. Her name is Abby Parks and she plays around the Southeast, including a show scheduled for December 2nd at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta and a show at Java Monkey in Decatur, GA in January. Check out her web site at http://www.abbyparks.com for more info.

I invite you to contact me for a free PR/media consultation. If you have good music and the ambition to do whatever it takes (legally) to get it out there, we can help you. Email me at SergeEnt@aol.com to set up a teleconference consultation with me.

We wish all of you a very Happy Holiday season and a prosperous 2010! Hope to see you in the new year!

We love Autumn!

Everything is turning brilliant colors - no I'm not on an acid trip! We here at SEG are just enjoying the this transitioning season before winter begins. The weather is cooler and very rainy here in the Southeast. Fortunately, the Serge Entertainment Group managed to escape the "monsoons" we've had here with only minimal damage so everything is cozy and decorated for Fall and Halloween here at headquarters. We are all wondering what costumes to wear for the parties. Should be fun this year with Halloween falling on a Saturday night.

Things are going well with SEPR promoting the Paris Keeling "End of Ride Revisited" CD release which you can purchase at http://www.myspace.com/pariskeeling, http://www.kellykeeling.net, and http://www.cdbaby.com/pariskeeling2. It's downloadable at the CD Baby site. We are still waiting for it to show up in iTunes because it experienced some unexpected delays thanks to a web site glitch with a certain online retailer. It should be at Amazon.com in a few weeks as well. The CD was released on Surgeland Records on August 28th, and the PR engine has been rolling ever since with lots of airplay and reviews already secured. More to come.

SEPR is also helping with Carmine Appice's Guitar Zeus "Conquering Heroes" CD release. You can find out more about it at http://www.myspace.com/guitarzeus. The CD features songs written by Carmine and Kelly Keeling (some also written by bassist Tony Franklin) with the lead guitar solos performed by famous guitarists such as Slash, Brian May, Zakk Wylde, Vivian Campbell, Richie Sambora, many more. Worth checking out for any guitar music enthusiast.

Also in the works is a PR campaign for a brilliant singer/songwriter Abby Parks. http://www.abbyparks.com. She has her CD release party this weekend In Gadsden, AL. Her CD The Homeplace is a delightful cd with wonderful storytelling songs.

Julius Curcio is returning to Atlanta on October 24th and will be performing at the Woodstock Coffee House on Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock, GA for a full night of music. http://www.juliuslive.com

Eternal Descent is really busy with limited releases of custom ESP guitar series featuring the comic book art to be rolled out at the NAMM show in January. Marshall and Digitech have hopped on board along with several other mfrs, but the best news yet is IDW Publishing will be publishing the Eternal Descent comic book with the first issue to be released late 1st quarter 2010. A coordinating soundtrack produced by Eddie Kramer (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones) will also be released. Very exciting news for the Eternal Descent team, goth music and comic book lovers alike. http://www.eternaldescent.com

Erik Norlander working on a new project as is Asia Featuring John Payne so watch for more info about those projects coming very soon. Check out John Payne's music podcast to keep with the latest news about John.

Lots more news to come. I should really blog more often so these notes are not so lengthy!

Happy Rocktober!

Press Release

Surgeland Records Sets August 28th Release Date for Paris Keeling CD

End of Week Release for Paris Keeling's End of Ride Revisited CD

August 7, 2009
For Immediate Release

Atlanta, GA - Surgeland Records, a division of Serge Entertainment Group LLC, has announced an unconventional release date of August 28th for "End of Ride Revisited" by rock band Paris Keeling. The release date falls on a Friday rather than the standard Tuesday release date protocol the larger labels follow. The 16-song set features songs previously released on the 2006 Paris Keeling CD "End of Ride" along with bonus tracks and remixes, and contains the renowned vocal talents of Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge, Michael Schenker Group, Blue Murder, Carmine Appice's Guitar Zeus, King Kobra, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, O'2L) and the lauded guitar and production work of Marty Paris (The Marty Paris Band, Permanent Reverse) along with several celebrity musicians. The collaboration between Paris and Keeling began several years ago with the culmination of their songwriting styles blossoming into melodic rock/pop political and relationship-based songs.

"This album has come together very nicely," explains Sandy Serge, Surgeland Records' president. "We decided to be a bit unconventional and opted for an end of week release, It goes well with the album title. Both the music, which features some of the most heralded musicians on the music scene today, and the artwork, are phenomenal. Our graphics designer Gary Kelley at Creative Ninjas did a superb job at developing our concept. We hope Paris Keeling friends and fans will be very pleased."

All presales orders will be shipped and the CD will be available online on the 28th at http://www.pariskeeling.com and http://www.kellykeeling.net. It will also be available digitally shortly thereafter through iTunes and other digital download sites.

Numerous celebrity musicians were recruited for this CD including Carmine Appice, George Lynch, Don Dokken, Al Pitrelli, Shane Gaalaas, Erik Norlander, Nate Howell, and The Aevia Trio featuring Diane Cox, Maud Kelley, and Juli Roach, with the core band consisting of Rick van Benschoten, Matt Goeke, Gintas Janusonis, Marty Paris, and Kelly Keeling.

CD presales orders are available on the web site at http://www.pariskeeling.com for a discounted price up until the 28th.

Serge Entertainment Group in 2009

Greetings, Everyone! It's been awhile since I've posted, but I thought I would update you on a few of the things happening here. Our recording division Surgeland Records is reopening its doors to release the upcoming Paris Keeling CD "End of Ride Revisited". We expect a release later this summer. The master is nearing completion right now. Paris Keeling is currently working on tourdates for a Fall tour. The tour will also feature Kelly Keeling's career retrospective - songs from all of Kelly's bands with some surprise guests - and even a set of Beatles songs! We expect everyone to sing along! NineDollarMelonBaller's song "Drown" was featured on an episode of Dog The Bounty Hunter in June. Asia Featuring John Payne is touring throughout the USA right now, and we just received the Military Man EP and are about to release a street date announcement. Erik Norlander, a member of Asia Featuring John Payne is out on tour with them at this point. Carmine Appice's Guitar Zeus 1 & 2 will be reissued in the USA by Fuel 2000 on August 18th and a release in the UK is expected soon as well. Singer/songwriter Kevin Carlson was recently featured on The Bark web site for donating a portion of the downloads for his song "Little Dang Dog" to the Woodstock, GA animal shelter "Mostly Mutts". He also received an amazing review of his new CD at Wildy's World. Chocolate Thunder just appeared at the Montreal Jazz Fest in Canada and put on a phenomenal show. She also appeared on Fox TV and MusicWoman Live Radio in June. Two of Kelly Keeling's songs will appear on a soundtrack and DVD of the Poor Paul web tv series, and one was placed in the TV show "Exposed". Lots of great things happening here to keep us busy. We hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful summer so far!

Serge Entertainment Group in 2008

Greetings, All!

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I blogged here! But that just goes to show you how busy we have been in 2008. I have kept up two blogs on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/sergeentertainmentgroup and at the Cherokee County Music Society at http://www.myspace.com/cherokeecountymusic. I acquired a publishing company and some song copyrights this year and they are AWESOME songs that I truly believed in. We've been working quite a bit with Bunim-Murray have gotten some song placements there. Also with a web tv show titled Poor Paul. We really enjoy working with Sean, the producer of the show. He is a good guy. We are gearing up for Halloween here and a trip to California next month for the Billboard conference. That should be fun. SEPR client Eternal Descent has secured a multitude of endorsements and will soon have a comic book series published. The Cherokee County Music Society has a garage sale this Friday AM. We are working hard to secure the funds for our 501(c)3 status. We have two fundraisers left this year with our Showcase and awards show in December. We always have lots of fun at that with tons of giveaways and raffles. Everyone goes home with a giveaway at our events. They are so much fun.

Band shows have been slow to secure lately thanks to the economic downturn. I hope that changes soon. We certainly need a change in our country's administration and I hope the next one does much better than the current one.

The weather has become brisk here in metro Atlanta - more winter-like than fall-like - I hope that's not a sign of things to come (meaning a harsh winter for us Southeasterners).

Life is good here. I hope all of you are doing well.

Stay warm!

Serge Entertainment loves the holiday season!

We haven't blogged in awhile, but as we approach the holiday season, we want to remind you to please spread good cheer and love one another. With being a country at war, this is never an easy task, but we all have the strength within us to love one another no matter what the circumstances. We also have the limitless power to forgive. No matter how badly someone has treated us, whether they have discarded us, or are just plain mean to us, if you forgive them, then you are the better person. The holidays are a great time for renewal - renewing relationships and spending time with loved ones. So let's all partake in that and also show some love to the less fortunate, because no matter how we look at it, there is always someone who is worse off than we are. Now is a great time for us to be thankful for what we have and not focus on what we seek. For many of us in the biz, things slow down a bit during November and December so we can really enjoy the season. Great things are happening at Serge Entertainment as always! We are already gearing up for next year's festival season with some great fests already lined up for Hollywood Allstarz, Memories of Mayberry, and Julius Curcio. We brought on a new booking agent Kim Venturo recently who is a real go-getter. We formed a new Music Society in Cherokee County and we have made considerable strides since our first meeting in February, 2007 including planning two very successful events. We have another one planned for tonight and one for December. We secured a feature film for one of our composer clients with a huge budget and landed a major festival slot for prog band Rocket Scientists. There is so much more for us to be thankful for that we couldn't possibly list everything here. We hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday season and give thanks for your bountiful lives!

Things are happening at Serge Entertainment!

It's been awhile since I posted, but everything is still buzzing along here at Serge Entertainment. We are working with Bossa Bistro and Lounge now and the Pastorius brothers (sons of Jaco) will be performing there this month. Pretty exciting. Also, Days Difference is making a huge splash on the music scene. Check out their music at http://www.daysdifference.com. Their music is similar to Coldplay, Lifehouse, Keane - great new band on a good indie label with tourdates lined up. They are about to add a huge fest to their tour schedule. Hollywood Allstarz is performing at Comstock Rock next month which is another huge festival for them. The Rocket Scientists show at RoSFest was superb. The media darlings wowed everyone there with standing ovations on several occasions. We've also secured sync licensing deals for our clients on MTV and Oxygen network show, and on The Ghost Whisperer and Ugly Betty, and a publishing deal for Mark Paul Smith so as you can see, things are going well here. On a personal note, I lost a very dear friend last month and I still can't believe he's gone. He led the life of a rockstar, but had changed his ways somewhat, just not enough apparently because the dear Lord took him on to greener pastures. May he Rest in Peace. Stay tuned to this page for more news! Thanks for reading.
